The Natural Mineral
Hydrated magnesium silicate sourced directly from the mineral-rich belts of Afghanistan.
Afghan Steatite
Talc is a natural hydrated magnesium silicate (soapstone or steatite) formed under extreme metamorphic conditions. EMM's Afghan talc is renowned for its high purity, natural brightness, and lamellar structure.

We extract and supply natural talc in run-of-mine, lump (up to 400mm), and selected chip forms. EMM controls the resource, allowing us to provide consistent mineralogy batch after batch — a reliability that is critical for global industrial manufacturers.
Key Characteristics
Lamellar Structure
Naturally occurring plate-like crystals that provide reinforcement in polymers and barrier properties in coatings.
94-96% Whiteness
Superior natural brightness that reduces the need for expensive TiO2 pigment in many formulations.
Chemical Inertness
Exceptional resistance to acids and bases, making it suitable for pharmaceutical and food-contact use.
Oleophilic Nature
Naturally attracts organic substances, serving as an effective pitch and stickies control agent in paper making.

Industrial Utility
The unique chemical and physical properties of our Afghan talc make it a mineral of choice for global industrial leaders across diverse sectors.
